Retrospect LP campaign roundup
Retrospect – A Decade Of Fracture & Neptune’ is an 18 track, digital LP that brings together the classic, always cosmic, Fracture & Neptune sound from the year 2000 right up to the current date. Some released faves, some unreleased, some brand new and some unheard tracks from the vaults! All wonderfully remastered by Bob Macc and sounding better than ever.
Retrospect was released on 30th May 2011 so lets have a look at the campaign and round up everything and everybody involved in the release of the album.

Along with the digital download package was the release of Customtone, the new track off the album. The release was limited to 500 copies designed by Nick Duggins & Emilski. Each sleeve has been individually hand printed and numbered making each copy individual and unique. Find out more about the sleeves here
To make this project even more special we have enlisted the skills of many other artists and creatives to bring you a multimedia package. First of all there is the amazing music video for Customtone by Emilski & Nick Duggins…
The response to the video was absolutely astounding and really blew us away. The original upload on vimeo has gained around 60,000 views so far and was picked up by design blogs such as Creative Feed and Hypebeast and the video has now been nominated for best music video at Super Toon Festival. If that wasn’t enough, the video has gained another collective 30,000 views on various youtube channels and when searched on google it returns 4,030 results. The video is available to buy via iTunes.
Director Louis Ellison was also involed in the Retrospect campaign and created an excellent 2 part mini documentary looking at some history behind Fracture & Neptune. In the first part, Tone To The Bone, Fracture and Neptune give you an insight and behind the scenes look at their musical history and the use of lap steel guitar in Drum and Bass. In part 2, Andy’s Shop, we spend a day with Fracture & Neptune digging through vinyl at their favourite record shop.
To celebrate the lauch of the album Astrophonica took over D&BTV for an evening of cosmic D&B with Fracture & Neptune, Mark System and Loxy (who was unfortunately ill). Along with the take over was a little interview and feature about the album.
There were also a number of radio appearances to promote the album including BBC 1Xtra old friend and fellow beat lover Bailey on his Intabeats show. There was a special Fracture & Neptune take over on Ministry Of Sound radio and a guest mix and interview on Kemet FM with Soul Intent

The album and 12″ has been received extremely well across the Drum & Bass scene and beyond. So let’s take a look at some of the press received. The Customtone single was given a lovely review over at Resident Advisor and the full LP was given online reviews by Data Transmission, and Bigshot Magazine while also gaining print press with with Mixmag hailing it ‘album of the month’ and in particular IDJ magazine describing the album as, ‘an immaculate collection that genuinely highlights how consistent the pair’s skills and distinctive cosmic motifs have been over the years’.
Phew! So there it all is. We are very proud at this moment and would like to take a minute to say thanks to everyone involved. It really means a lot.
